Ban Spit Hoods!

The article "Cruel and Dangerous", published in the East Bay Express, describes the 2019 fight to ban spit hoods in Berkeley, and the cynical way the Berkeley Mayor and City Council ignored these concerns.

Now that we have seen the horrific murder of Daniel Prude with a spit hood by the Syracuse PD, will the City Council and Berkeley PD reevaluate the use of spit hoods on our community?

Meanwhile the Berkeley PD is pushing to remove the ban on tear gas and to purchase two new LRAD sound cannons. LRADs, spit hoods, tear gas? When will the Berkeley City Council and Police realize that this is NOT how you "re-imagine" policing. Wanna build some good will? BAN SPIT HOODS!
