Greensboro, NC – New findings revealed that taser guns may be more dangerous than information released in past research.
A group of cardiologists at the University of California, San Francisco suggest the research may be biased because some prior researchers have ties to taser manufacturers.
Rockingham County Sheriff’s deputies say taser guns are safe and that these devices are the best alternative to using deadly force.
“This to me as a law enforcement official that has 147 employees, the ones that do have these, the 100 officers that have these, it’s the best less than lethal device that we have out there on the market,” said Sheriff Sam Page.
According to Sheriff Page, his deputies tasered eight people while on duty so far this year and none of those incidents caused injury.
Despite the cardiologists’ claims, the manufacturing company called taser international- says its study is accurate and the device is safe.
